Hi, everyone.
I have a file that has a mix of English and Simplified Chinese. For example, I have one row with a product name in English, and a second row with a different product name in Simplified Chinese. The default language on the file in English. However, when I view the data, the file shows a random set of characters in lieu of the Chinese characters.
I know Simplified Chinese is supported, however is there a way to display both in the same data set? I did also test this online to see if perhaps it was a desktop only issue, but the problem persisted in the online service.
Thanks!
Scott

@Anonymous,
Based on my test, the issue is related to encoding of file. I input some Simplified Chinese charaters in a Excel file/text file and save the file in Unicode format.
After I get data from the file into Power BI Desktop May release, everything works well. Power BI report shows correct Simplified Chinese charaters even I publish report to Power BI Service.
Regards,
Lydia

Thanks, @v-yuezhe-msft! I suspected as much, but I very much appreciate the confirmation.
