Click on slicer visual

Drag into the slicer "field" box the "Day Number" column from your date table.

Click on the format option for the slicer (looks like a rolling paint brush)

Open up General

Select Horizontal Orientation.

Thats really all there is too it.  You then repeat those steps for Year and Month and arrange however is sensible for your project.

If you have a date table, you can build one using the standard slicer.

For the Days, bring in the day number a slicer and set the slicer to be "Horizontal" instead of "Vertical".  This option can be located under the "General" area of the visual options.

The only thing I don't like about the "Horizontal" setting of the slicer is that the ordering of the tiles goes top to bottom, then left to right which is awful for most users.
