analytics options for line and clustered coumn chart

hello,

i'm trying to figure out what all of the analytics options for line & clustered coumn chart are suppose to do. when i enable the use highlight values option, i don't see any change on the chart. to test, i've tried changing some of the formatting options to see if any would cause the chart to appear differently when the highlight option is enabled, but i haven't seen any difference. the tooltip for the hightlight option says "use highlight values to calculate the trend line". i'm hoping someone can explain what this means.

thank you

tracy

@elz Analytics pane is not available with Line and clustered column chart so I am not sure what you mean there but check out this article which explains on the use of analytics pane.

hi ankit,

i am not sure what you mean by the pane is not available. i created a line and clustered chart and i can use the analytics pane, (see screen shot below. the link didn't cover the trend line options that i could see. the other trend line options change the chart. the use highlight value option doesn't seem to do anything.

how did you get the analytics options to come up for a clustered column and line chart? It says this is not available for this chart type?

It's been some time since this question, but this may be helpful to someone else.
Make sure the X-axis is set to "Continuous." The Trend line option isn't available for "Categorical."
