alphabetical range sorting

Hi everyone,

I need to assign vendors to employees based on their first 3 letters, example:

Vendors > Employee

A - BAX > person A

BAY - DZ > person B

E - KO > person C

etc..

I'm hoping to find a way to create a column with DAX or power query to assign them rather than do it manually.

Thanks,

D

How does E go to C?

Create a table based on a set of characters which employees need to assign.

Create a new column in the table having vendor

Table having data = maxx(new table,search(new Tabble [search text], Table[vendor))>=0, new table[employee])
