Year on Year Change in the Hiring Number

Hi,

I would like to know, how can i make calculate the Year On Year Hiring number 

Fact Table:

Column Year1 Type is (Text), 

Date Table:

Date Relationship with Year1 (One to Many)

Measures 1

"Total Emp LY = CALCULATE([Total Employees of PWC], SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR(Dates[Date]))"

Measure 2 
"Diff = IF(ISBLANK([Total Emp LY]), BLANK(), [Total Employees of PWC] - [Total Emp LY])"

Matrix Visualization Selected:

Rows: Dept Column

Columns: Year1 

Values: Total Employees of PWC 

When I drag the "Diff" measure into Values When Diff is selectedWhen Year1 is change type is Whole Number

Need your assiatance in this regard, thank you
