Year Over Year Calculation

Power BI community,

I have the number of Purchase Orders created by year and department. How may I create a year over year analysis of the number of POs created? I would like my analysis to show count and percentage of the increase or decrease.

Lastly, is there a visual that you recommend I use to display my analysis?

Regards,

Gus Dahu

Hi @gusdahu,

You can have a look at below similar examples that calculate YOY comparison.

Comparing this year and last year measure on a bar chart

Measures – Year Over Year Percent Change

Filtering and comparing different time periods

If you still have any concern, please post sample data and show the expected result.

Hi,

A 2 y-axis combination chart would be ideal.  The bigger task is not which visual to create but how to compute the figures.  Share some data and show your expected result in a simple Table format.  Once the Table is ready, we can build any chart.
