HI,
Please let me know if I can extract the underlying files of a .pbix file in an XML format.

Hi @Mystery,
Could you please mark the proper answers as solutions?
Best Regards,
Hi @Mystery,
There are two ways you can see what's inside. BUT it's definitely a bad idea to make any changes.
1. Unzip the pbix file as a compressed file.
2.1 Install the SQL Server Management Studio.
2.2 Open the pbix file.
2.3 Open Resource Monitor. Please refer to the snapshot below.
Best Regards,
Thanks. But I cannot see the snapshot. Is it possible to attach it as a picture so that I can get an idea.
Regards
Hi @Mystery,
How about now? You also can download it from the attachment.
Best Regards,
No clue as to why, but a PBIX is really just a ZIP file so if you can do it for a ZIP file, you can do it for PBIX.

Not sure if my question was clear or not.Let me try to be a little more specific.
I have the .pbix file in the extracted form and can load it as well inside Power BI.
My ask is if I were to look into the backend XML files which make up this .pbix file where are they stored and how can they be accessed.
I am trying to access the metadata which is behind the .pbix file.
Regards
You best bet is probably the Power BI REST API.
