Writing a DAX formula in order to use it as a line graph

Hello guys,

I have an issue where I want to be able to make a line graph out of selected columns in a table through the use of meaure formula. Basically I have a Date column and an Issues column.

I want to calculate how many times an issue has been reported on a date. Example:

Date                      Issue

4/15/2017                 Issue A

4/15/2017                 Issue B

4/15/2017                 Issue C

4/15/2017                 Issue A

4/16/2017                 Issue C

4/16/2017                 Issue C

4/18/2017                 Issue B

4/18/2017                 Issue B

4/18/2017                 Issue B

This means that 4/15/2017 had a total of 2 types of Issue A and 1 type of Issue B and C

4/16/2017 had a total of 2 types of Issue C

4/18/2017 had 3 types of Issue B

Thanks in advanced!

Not sure you need any DAX. Put Date, Day as your axis, Issue as your legend and Count of Issue in your Value.

The thing is there is no Issue_Count column in this table I was given so I can use it in the "Value". So I would have to calculate or count the rows with Issue A, Issue B and Issue C separately for each date or so I believe. I may be wrong, let me know what you think about this.

If you put a text column into Value area, it defaults to Count.
