Workspace doesn't appear in PBI Desktop

Hello, I created a workspace for my colleague and assigned her as a member to it. When she wants to publish a report from PowerBI Desktop to this workspace, she cannot see it in the list. How could this be? (when I do the same thing, I can see it)

Hi @Fab_R ,

What is the type of this workspace? If it is a classic workspace and set "member can only view content", they may do not have permission to edit content in it. Does she have a pro license to access this workspace in Power BI Service? Could you please verify if she can use "get data" - "local file" - "upload pbix" to get this pbix published in this workspace? Please also verify if the signed in user of Power BI Desktop have the correct permission in this workspace.

I tried it with a classic and new workspace. She can edit /publish etc. content from the workspace. She also has a pro licence.

The problem seems to be that the report she wanted to publish was based on a dataset in a workspace she did not have rights for. She could base a new report on it, but publishing it to another workspace is not an option.

Thanks for your help!

I've only ever run into this when the workspace was in a different tenant than my login. You could check the Issues forum here:

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues

And if it is not there, then you could post it.

If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".
