Hi,
For some security issues, we could not reveal the db username and password to the end users, so we wrote a small app that adds odbc registry.
It works fine in excel without prompting the user for the credentials. But when in PowerBI ,it will require the password. Why is that? Are there any workarounds that would avoid this behavior?
Hi @Anonymous,
It seems to me that it should be related to the security whin Power BI service(when a pbix file is published to service, which is different from Excel). And as far as I know, there isn't an option to avoid this behavior currently.
