Why am I getting a single color result in a stacked column chart that has multiple legend colors?

Why am i getting a single color result with the horizontial axis stacked colum chart vs the correct 3 color result when I switch the same chart to a veritcal axis stacked column chart? There is no data change, only switching the visual.

Apparently just saving the file fixed the issue.
