When switching to Date Hierarchy the month value in two different years are added to gether

Hello,

I have a cash flow for one year and two months which I am using to experiment and use Power Bi as I am very new to it. When I use date hierachy to show the value of each month then it adds the value of Jan 19 and Jan 20 together which I dont want it to happen. How can I fix that? I dont want to remove the hierarchy because I want to show the value of each month.

In date Hierarchy, you can remove and choose whatever you want. Or you can create date table and have Month -Year column in that

Please check how month year and month year sort have been created

Month Year = FORMAT([Date],"mmm-yyyy") // You can use this
Month Year sort = FORMAT([Date],"yyyymm") // The above column need to have this as sort column

Something is not working well, but thank you for your respond. Is there a way at least to show the hidden months such Feb

In the Format section of the Visualizations pane, expand the X axis card and change the Type option from Continuous to Categorical.
