What's the maximum number of bookmarks that we can have in a report?

Hi all,

I have a design that needs to hide/view many visuals on a report page with the click of buttons. In order to implement such behavior, I've got to know that bookmarks are the best option.

Before creating the whole report, I want to know that is there any specific limit on the number of bookmarks that we can or should create in Power BI desktop so that the performance is not impacted.

Also, please let me know if there any better option available to cater to this.

I have found that around 100 bookmarks seems to be the max before operation performance starts taking a hit.... sometimes you can't get the new bookmarks to be standalone as they will start to affect the more recent bookmarks you made at that level....

Hi @aditya_fractal ,

Currently there is no document mentioned maximum amount of bookmarks and its performance. You could use the Performance Analyzer to see how the report elements are performing and then to optimize them.

For now, it is the best way for the requirement to use bookmarks. The blog that amitchandak suggested is very useful and detailed. You also can view the video as reference.

We can create as many bookmarks in the report as per the requirement but we have to keep in mind about operation performance.

Could provide more explantion about what you mean this can affect the operation performance?
Is  this related with the Power BI workspace or the dashboard/report/tab?

@perezco - if there is huge number of bookmarks in report  that should indirectly impacts the operational performance (load increases) at backend of the report.
