Way to apply not slicer but only page/report/visual level filter?

Dear BI users,

Hope you to share creative ideas about below issue.

Objectives

  • Show same statistics on every pages differed by products and branchs : report 1 for product 1, report 2 for branch 2
  • Use same measures on every pages filtered by Page Level Filter : page level filter on report 1 is "only product 1", page level filter on report 2 is "only branch 2"

Problems

  • ALL() Function ignore all silcers also also Visual/Page/Report filters

Question

  • Is there any way to apply only Page Level Filter not by a slicer on the page

Alternative

  • Alternative #1 : Create same measures for every product/branch : [YTD product 1], [YTD product 2] ...
  • Alternative #2 : Use same measures and adopt filters and "Edit Interaction" to be effected by Report filter not any slicer on the page

Sincerely,

Lee, Hong Gwoo

Hi @extri13,

As your post, ALL() function ignores all slicers and Visual/Page/Report filters.  In order to apply only Page Level Filter not by a slicer on the page, you would need to use ALLSELECTED() function instead of ALL() function, and utilize "Edit Interaction” feature(Alternative #2). ALLSELECTED is removing only filters created by the rows/columns in the current query, but retains explicit filters.  For more details about difference between ALL() and ALLSELECTED(), please review this similar blog.

In addition, comparing to Alternative #1, Alternative #2 is more practical and more convenient. For more details, please review the example in the attached  PBIX file.
