PowerBI Desktop:
I hope someone can tell me I'm missing something very obvious here, but for the life of me my visualizations will not grab the updated information from the data tables. Tables update fine and show the correct data, but the visulizations are stuck on "last months" data. Please see screenshots (Simple line graph with a monthly figure):
Table: (working and updating fine) || Data that graph is using from that table || The filter shows only June till November
In this case, I have a table with months and some figures. I have made (and remade) a simple line graph with that data. I have checked there are no modifications to the table in powerBI (screenshot below). Source data is reflected correctly in the Query, but the visulazation seems to be stuck on an old version of that table.
This is happening with ALL my tables and visulizations! I feel like I'm going insane. I've refreshed about a million times, saved, closed and reopened you name it. I've searched high and low online for things to try to fix this but it seems like this is such a basic problem that there is not a lot of other people having this issue.
Solved! Go to Solution.
I found it!!
If you turn on your Selection pane, View | Selection Pane you will see that you have a hidden slicer on the page. That's your issue. Get rid of that bad boy and you should be all set.
I am sure you would have done this but just confirming. Did you refresh on the Power BI Desktop screen or on the query editor screen. The data in the visuals will not reflect the latest entries unless its refreshed on the Power BI screen (i.e. refreshing in query editor does not necessarily refresh the data on the visual unless there were any changes you apply).
Correct, I have refreshed both query and Desktop multiple times, no errors reporting during the load.
Hmmm, any chance you can share the PBIX?
Sure thing, https://drive.google.com/file/d/1c3zqHJKAF5Pse-6U2WPCsnOrhVJQAUuW/view?usp=sharing
let me know the excel data is needed as well.

Oh RIGHT! haha THANK YOU!
completely forgot about that, i knew it had to be something stupid I'd done!
I have to say, that is extremely weird. However, if you create a new page and copy all of your visualizations to that page, they work just fine. Weird.
Are you sure that you don't have a Page or Report level filter set?
Good idea, unfortunatly no page or report filters 😞
