Using value of measure to create calculated column

I have created a measure based on filter selection using the SELECTEDVALUE function.

SelectedRecency = SELECTEDVALUE('Input Files'[Recency], 0)

Using the measure, I am able to show the filter selection correctly on a card.

However, when I am trying to use this measure to create a calculated column

Recency_test = [SelectedRecency],

it is replicating the column 'Input Files'[Recency] instead of just creating the column with one value obtained from the filter selection

Is it not possible to create a dynamic filter selection based column in power bi, if yes, how?

Your help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @ankitv0407,

I'm afraid we can't create a dynamic filter selection based column for now. I would suggest you vote up this idea or create a new one.

Best Regards,

Dale
