Using the valuer from a slicer to create a new table

Hi

I'm struggling to create a new table by passing in a slicer value.

I can't share the data but I pulled together the following which demostrates what i'm trying to do

new table -> data = GENERATESERIES(0,1000000,100000)

new table -> slicer = GENERATESERIES(0,1000000,250000)

create drop down slicer on slicer[value]

new measure -> selectedval = SELECTEDVALUE((slicer[Value]))

new table -> Table = FILTER(data,data[Value]<[selectedval])

The new table is empty when I make a selection of 250k. But if i manually change [selectedval] to 250k, then it populated.

Any direction greatly appreciated!

Tables are not dynamic but rather static and are calculated at the time of creation and at the time of data refresh. You would need to create a measure that would create your table dynamically and then do something with the information. For example, you could create the table dynamically in a measure and then return the SUMX of some value in that table. This would be dynamic based upon slicer selection.
