Using a layer of a stacked area chart to return as a different visualizaiton

Hi,

I want to return the max of the red area chart to a guage visualization on Power BI desktop. I know the measure used to calculate the red area is returning the correct numbers, however I am unable to take the max of the red area and return it to a different visualization.

In the picture attached below - the guage would return 25 (from the first data point at Jun 26) because the max area for the red curve for that time period.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated!

@NoaB it is not easy to answer without knowing what is used in the RED measure calculation, how you are tables are related if there are more than one etc etc.

MAXX function will be one you will able to use here. Read this post to get your answer quickly.

Hi @parry2k

Thank you so much for your response! This is currently the measure we are using. VAR total is returning the points at the time selected. However we want to take the max of the points from total. When we try to do MAXX(total) or MAX(total) it returns an error. However the functionality we are trying to do is calculating the [Capacity1] + [Capacity2] over the correct dates, and then taking the max sum from the previous additions.

Do you have any suggestions on how to achieve this?

Current Machine Pool Utilization =

VAR selectedDates = VALUES ('CalendarDim'[DateTime])
VAR total = (MAXX(selectedDates, ([Capacity1] + [Capacity2])))
