Using R Visual to display formatted table with different column names

One of the big limitations with the out-of-the-box table visual is the fact that we are unable to rename the column headings.  We are connecting to an on-prem tabular model, whose dimension & measure names we cannot change.  It would be great to be able to rename the column headings in a table (e.g "Sum of Net Revenue" to "Revenue").

As a work around I was wondering if it was possible to this using R instead?  I have zero R experience, and as such I have struggled to get anything working.  Does anyone know who to create something like this?

Hi,

I assume you are opening live connection to Tabular so that you can’t change the data field name.

In Power BI, it’s not supported to have the data field name displayed with different name in visual. Even using R visual can’t change this metadata name either.

You can submit a feature request on Ideas: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi .

Best Regards
Alex
