Using POWERBI Date Slicer Selection to change value of a card variable

Hello,

I have a date slicer where I make a selection of the current month. Based on the chosen month, I want to display a variable measure (Revised Budget) corresponding to that month on a card. Is there any way to do so? I have tried using SELECTEDVALUE DAX but it's not working. Attaching the visuals and DAX used for reference. I already have the variable value present in the view.

Revised Budget = IF ( SELECTEDVALUE ( 'Budgeting v_IncomeStatement'[PeriodFormatted].[Month]) = "June" , SUM('Budgeting v_IncomeStatement'[June]), 0 )

Regards,

Ranjeeta

@rbhattacharya , Ideally budget should be joined with a date table and that should be used as a filter, so will work without any handling

Also if its date hierarchy you will get a date not month , so you will get jun -2020

To get the best of the time intelligence function. Make sure you have a date calendar and it has been marked as the date in model view. Also, join it with the date column of your fact/s. Refer :radacad sqlbi My Video Series Appreciate your Kudos.

Can you share sample data and sample output in table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data.
