Using Microsoft Excel 2016 with Power Query to connect to a https web services is not possible. I receive always the following message: The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel.
I tried already the following registry entries with Windows 7 and Excel 2016:
but this does not help. So I tried to add the certificate https://blog.gbrueckl.at/2014/09/using-self-signed-certificates-for-your-power-bi-dmg/ to my windows. But this does also not work.
Is anyone aware of this issue and can tell me what I need to do to run https web services with Excel 2016?
Thanks
@clemensbauer,
Do you get same error message when you use Web entry in Power BI Desktop to connect to your web services? Could you please post the web URL so that I can test?
Regards,
Lydia
@v-yuezhe-msft, I do not have Power BI Desktop and usage is an internal server which provides the web services. Therefore, I cannot provide the URL (not accessable from outside).
I do not think that this is an Office issue, I think it is an server issue and rely on the certificate handling.
