I am using Switch in my report to toggle between measures and show different results.
I wonder if it is better performance wise to use bookmarks instead?

I don't think you would see any major difference. Is your concern that the SWITCH measure is taking too long to calculate? You could test it by making a page in your report with just the matrix and switch measure and another page with just the matrix and straight measure that the switch goes to. If the second page loads mugh faster than the first then there is a slow down coming from switch and the bookmarks could help.
