Updating existing bookmarks does not work

I do not manage to update existing bookmarks.

I have visual specific filter which I would like to remove by using a bookmark:
bookmark 1: no visual specific filter;
bookmark 2: visual specific filter applied.

When I create two new bookmarks using the following:
1. I add a visual filter to the visual. Then I select this visual, press Add (bookmark) and adjust bookmark setting to "Selected visuals".
2. Then I remove the visual filter of this particular filter. I do the same as under step 2.

The result is exactly as I want: I have two bookmarks for which one I see a visual with the filter applied and one bookmark where no filter is applied to visual.

However, I already have existing bookmarks which are linked to various buttons. I therefore do not feel like creating completely new bookmarks.

"Luckily" there is an "Update" button on the bookmark view.
What I do:

1. I add a visual filter to the same visual. Then I select this visual (and of course the visuals on which were captured by the existing bookmark) and press on "Update". The button "Selected visuals" is still selected.
2. I remove the visual filter again. I do the same again.

Result: I have two bookmarks but visual specific filter is not saved. There is no difference in visual specific filter.

How can I use this Update function properly? Currently I see no option other than creating new bookmarks. This is a waste of my time, because I believe there should be a way to use the ""Update" button.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Anonymous

Based on my understanding, you have two bookmarks, then you need many visuals on the two bookmarks,

on bookmark1, visuals have visual level filters, on bookmark2, visuals have no visual level filters.

Is my understanding correct?

Would you like some function which can automatically do steps above?

Best Regards

Maggie

Hi Maggie,

Thanks for your answer.

Your understanding is correct. The problems lies not so much in the fact that this is impossible, but more "how do I achieve this using the UPDATE button rather than creating complete new bookmarks".

I manage to do these steps when I create completely new bookmarks. My question is thus more "how can I make the bookmark update button to work?"

Thanks in advance.

If you want to update a bookmark first you need to do the selection, apply filter condition and then you need to select a bookmark, click on "update".

It doesn't work if you first click on update and then apply filter or selection.
