Unsuccessful attempt to abbreviate Month on axis when working with a live dataset connection

Good evening.

I am working with a live dataset published by my company and I can see and leverage all data to build visualizations, measures and create my own report with the data in there my issue is when wanting to show the Month Name abbrebiated, Jan, Feb, instead of January, February.

I am tryign to use the measure: MonthNameS = FORMAT([Date],"mmm") but I cant link to the data table on the live dataset while writing the measure. The only things I can call are excisting mesures or additional functions. (pictures below)

Unfortunately this feature is still not supported currently. I would suggest you vote for this idea to help power bi improve.
