Unexpected error occurred (file 'tmsavepointvalidation.cpp', line 458

Hi,

I hope someone can guide me to fix this issue, I'm not sure what is causing this issue, I'm connecting Power Bi to multiple .xlsx files, and I'm appending the data in these files, however after the recent update for Power Bi Version: 2.79.5768.721 64-bit (March 2020)

I'm unable to refresh, and I get the following error for all the data sources.

Can anyone please guide me to solve this problem.

Failed to save modifications to the server. Error returned: 'An unexpected error occurred (file 'tmsavepointvalidation.cpp', line 458, function 'TMSavePoint::VerifyProxyCreationAllowed').
'.

Updates :

I have validated that the error available from the recent updates of Microsoft power Bi, however, the disaster that when I tried to downgrade to the February version, I can't access anymore all the changes that happened on the march version.

Hi @mm14222 ,

Refering to this case, The issue is seemed related to the feature enhanced-dataset-metadata. Please disable it in the lastest version and downgrade your Power bi desktop to check again.

Thanks for your kind support, yet even after almost 30 days and disabling the Enhanced Meta Date Format preview feature, it is still not working.

I will downgrade again to the previous version, however, I will be losing a lot of the new fixes and features introduced in March and April version.

Who I should escalate this issue to?  please help.

DAX is easy, CALCULATE makes DAX hard...

I have tried all solutions mentioned however none solved the problem, actually, i have no way to access the dashboard anymore after downgrading to Feb version.

I'm left with a single solution to rebuild the entire dashboard, which will take a week of work. i hope there would be a solution to this issue.
