Hello

I'm using Power bi desktop for nearly one year now and since yesterday I can't open it.

I'm using a windows 10

I tried uninstall powerbi and install

- report server version 32b

- report server version 64b

- Cloud version on the windows shop

Reboot the computer multiple times

On the event viewer I have an error id event 25

MSOLAP$AnalysisServicesWorkspace is not found

Does anyone have an idea, to correct the problem ?

Hi @clamaison ,

From your error message, this is due to the integration of Analysis Services (MSOLAP) engine in Power BI Desktop that use an instance name (i.e. AnalysisServicesWorkspace512078123) that change every time Desktop is launched.

Basically the warning complain because:
* The events definitions is unknown (event 14)
* The AS engine run on a machine that does not have a known locale in AS (event 25), locale 2057 is English-UK. AS know only English-US.
* The other events are just informational (version, definition files, etc.)

As your issue is more related to your computer environment, it is required to collect and analyze a process dump to analyze what’s happening on the machine while attempting to install Power BI Desktop. So, could you please open a support ticket so our engineers will have a check on your dump files to check what happened?

Best Regards,

Cherry
