Unable to open PBIX although I have most current version of PBI desktop

Hi,

 

I get an error message saying "unable to open document.. incompatible with your current version of Microsoft Power BI Desktop.. Please install the latest version". I tried uninstalling & re-installing PBI desktop via Microsoft store - still got the same error message. Tried the installer downloaded from https://msit.powerbi.com/home - didn't resolve the issue as well. I asked a colleague to open the pbix on his PBI desktop, he got the same error message although he had the 2.68 (April 2019) version. I can open other PBIx files. This particular file I'm having issue with,  I was able to modify it in PBI Desktop about 6 days ago using 2.68 (April 2019) version. I really hope I don't have to recreate the report from scratch. 😞

Hi @v-lili6-msft . Thank you for your input. I tried to look at the solutions on the links you've provided, unfortunately none of them worked for me :

> I dont have an older or earlier copy of the PBix saved locally or elsewhere.

> There are no previous versions to choose from eventhough I have always saved it on the same location.
