Unable to connect to Oracle Database

Hello,

I upgraded my Power BI Desktop with August update this AM, and I am not able to add a new Oracle Datasource anymore, as soon as I select Oracle Database as option Power BI goes into an endless loop and I am not able click anymore.

My existing connections that use Oracle Database as a source still work though.

Thanks,

Raj

Hi @rpsinha1987,

Based on my test in the latest Power BI Desktop version 2.37.4464.361 64-bit (July 2016), we are able to connect to Oracle database. In your scenario, you need to make sure correct Oracle client software has been installed on the computer running Power BI Desktop. For more information, please refer to this article: Connect to an Oracle database.

Also please check if orignal Power BI desktop exists on the computer, make sure only the latest one installed.

If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
