Unable to connect data file from One Drive due to "Access to the resource is forbidden."

Hello,

I am unable to upload files from One Drive due to Error: "Access to the resource is forbidden.".

I tried to delete permissions from Data source settings but that did not work.

Are there any other tips to fix this error?

Thank you.

@m_e_1203 , In case of one drive when taking URL, you need to remove ?web=1 . Hope you have done that.

Check that you are able to open that file on excel .

refer to these old issues if they can help

Thank you for your advice.

When I go "info" it does not show anything. So I copied URL from "Copy link".

The link looks like this and not ending "?web=1".

https://*****.sharepoint.com/:x:/s/*****/****************************************=bFcMer

These solutions did not work for me.

  • Version seems updated. Version: 2.84.981.0 64-bit (August 2020)
  • Clear Data source settings and retry.
  • Select Anonymous
  • Windows --> Use alternate credentials and enter correct user name and password
  • Basic --> Enter correct user name and password
  • Organization account --> shows error "We could not authenticate with the credentials provided. Please try again." But I entered correct info since I could log in to OneDrive folder with same inforamtion.

@m_e_1203 Well, check permissions on that folder and then you need to connect to it using credentials that have access. You could check the Issues forum here:

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues

And if it is not there, then you could post it.

If you have Pro account you could try to open a support ticket. If you have a Pro account it is free. Go to https://support.powerbi.com. Scroll down and click "CREATE SUPPORT TICKET".
