I am getting the following error while trying to connect Power BI Connect to Azure SQL Data Warehouse:
Details: "Microsoft SQL: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the pre-login handshake. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The semaphore timeout period has expired.)"
I'm facing the same error when trying to connect power bi to the dataverse using the dataverse connector. Cannot figure out how to solve this issue.

Hi @Anonymous ,
By my research, the error commonly occurs in the following possibilities:
1. An instance of the SQL Server Database Engine is not running.
2. The SQL Server Browser service is not running.
3. The TCP/IP is disabled.
4. The server name was typed incorrectly.
5. There are network problems.
6. The TCP/IP port for the Database Engine instance is blocked by a firewall.
7. The client and server are not configured to use the same network protocol.
Then for the solutions, please refer to following articles:

In addition, please have a reference of this similar thread and check if you hit the same scenario.
