I'm building a report in Power BI desktop... It will not let me add a calculated column to the Value field of the Matrix. I have a date table, with the date in the Rows. It will let me add measures just fine. I can add columns to Row, and Column....just not Value.
Report contains confidential data, so I cannot share it. When I try to recreate w/dummy data in a different report file I am able to add columns in all three fields. I've looked at every setting I can think of.
It is any tab on this report...I deleted the entire Matrix and tried starting new.....nothing.
Any ideas why this report only will not let me add columns to the Value field? Has anyone come across this issue?
The column I removed was numerical. I attempted to add a replacement numerical column in with no luck. This is how I found the issue.

I think the file is just corrupt. I tried making a simple 1 column Matrix table in a new tab and could not. I'm in the process of recreating in a new .pbix with no issues.
Hopefully that is it. If you trust me, I can look at the file confidentially. You can share it with me via a DM vs sharing here. But other than that, if starting over is working, hopefully that resolves it.
Do ensure you are on the latest or a very recent version of Power BI Desktop. I would be on Nov 2020 at worst. Dec 2020 is better, but I understand not everyone wants to be on the very latest.
