Unable to Install Power BI Desktop January 2022

Hi,

 

We have 2 servers. One supports PBI Report Server (W2k16), the other PBI Desktop (W2k19)

Installation of January 2022 version fails. I have tried the September 2021 msi package, the same thing happens.

If i try to unistall Windows asks me for the source.

The logs are quite terse.

@ITAdapei33 , Hope you have Admin right on the machine to install ?

 

Can paste error in text format.

Hi, 

 

Of course. The PBI Desktop upgrade was working since 2019.

 

Error 1714. The older version of Microsoft Power BI Desktop (January 2022) (x64) cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1612.
