Unable To Sign In From Desktop

Hi,

I have a Pro license and can log in to Power BI service without any issue. But I am unable to sign in from Desktop.

There is no response when I sign in. When I try to publish and attemp to sign on, there is no response either.

 

I ran a trace and the message showing is:

If I attempt to log in to api.powerbi.com, (after clearing cookies and cache), I get an internal error message or connection time out message.

 

How do I resolve this, as I am unable to publish.

Hi @Mirithu,

It seems that you will get error message when you sign in your power bi account in power bi desktop.

Firstly, please check if you have installed the latest version of power bi desktop 2.70.5494.761 and also check Resolve issues when starting Power BI Desktop.

In addition,  you could uninstalled the power bi desktop and reinstall the latest version.

Besides, you could refer to the similar threads below.

Hi @v-piga-msft 

Thank you for you assistance. Signing in from outside the office network worked for me. Unfortunately, I have to do this everytime I need to sign in. 

 

I will have to get it whitelisted on firewall.
