URL Icon NOT Working with URLs which Contain Parameters

Hi.

trying to create this table with "URL Icon" enabled, the result is still:
URL Icon.PNG

Those URLs still don't get converted to links in PBI Desktop.

Notice that my URLs have parameters after ? sign plus they don't start with "www"

Did you set the URL column type to "Web URL" as following screenshot?

Hmmm, fabulous. I did not know about this step. It's working now.

I would be good if this was mentioned somewhere in the UI - I am pretty sure other users must be struggling like me.

Also, it would be super nice if the hyperlinks are kept when exporting the table into XLSX from PBI online. Now, the URLs get converted to standard text and you need to convert them manually via hyperlink() function which is a bit cumbersome.

You can accept the right answer as solution, so that other ones who have the same problem can find the solution quickly.

And if you have some ideas to improve Power BI, you can create an idea in https://ideas.powerbi.com for feature request.

Best Regards,
Herbert
