Two year data monthly comparison

Hi,

I have uploaded two seperate spreadsheets in to power BI for the year 2017 & 2018. These spreadsheets are in similar format but the dates are different. I wanted to create a line chart for both 2017 and 2018 month on month basis. However when i select the data and im getting the following chart where 2018 commission is showing as total for the year instead of monthly.

However when i selected the data sepearately for 2017 & 2018 im getting the correct charts as below.

i wanted to combine the above bot hcharts in to one so i can have comparision chart. Does anyone know how to work around this?

You should create a date table and link it to your other two tables.

Ex.

Date =
    ADDCOLUMNS(
        CALENDAR("1/1/1980", TODAY()),
             "Year", YEAR([Date]),
            "Month Number", FORMAT([Date], "MM"),
            "Month Name",  FORMAT([Date], "MMMM")
            )
