Two reports showing different results but are connected to the same dataset

I have a report that is showing different results from a direct SQL Server query. The report also shows different results from when I create the same report in the Power BI source dataset (which pulls directly from SQL Server). The results from the Power BI Source dataset are teh same as the one's from SQL.  I have checked all the filters and can confirm that it is not a filter issue. Is there something simple I am missing?

Hey @Anonymous ,

if you are playing with synching slicers, then there is the possibility that slicers can be hidden. Then slicers will be deleted, pages will be deleted, hidden slicers may survive.

Check the Selection pane

If this is not the case, please provide a little sketch, as I do not understand the architecture, and where there is a difference.

Sometimes it can happen, that a dataset (connected to the datasource via directquery) is comared with a dataset that holds imported data, but has not been refreshed.

Maybe you can create a simple measure that counts the rows of the facttable, if both value are different, then the fact table is either filtered or they are not the same. If the measures are returning different results, adjust the the measure like so:
COUNTROWS(REMOVEALLFILTERS('facttablename')).

Regards,
Tom

It was still an issue with the filters. Stopped trying to figure it out and when I started from scratch it worked out. Thanks!
