Two connections between the same tables

Hi,

I have an item table that contains both finished items and components. Most of the finished products have a bill of materials that consists of one or more components. They seem to identify on the same fields.

As such, I would need to have two connections between the same two tables, which doesn't seem workable. My solution would be to split the item table into two tables; one for components and one for finished items, but that seems like a rather unelegant way to solve this which might lead to issues with other reports.

Do you guys have any different suggestions perhaps?
