Turn off highlight in barchart?

Hi I am having a difficult time understanding why my bar chart visual keeps showing 'highlights' I have turned off my interactions.

I only want to see the values represented as the height of the darker bar, I'm confused why the in focus bar is different than the out of focus bar when I have only selected 1 field as my value.  I have tried to read the Microsoft documentation, but still not getting it.  Does anyone have any insight as to why this w

Hi @Anonymous ,

did you use a measure as value?

And the filtered measure return an higher value than an unfiltered measure?

Regards,

Marcus

Hi @mwegener thank you for replying.  I used a measure as a value and the filtered (highlighted) values is higher than the actual value.  Would you be able to help me understand why this is happening or how I cn show only the actual value?

@mwegener I think my question is confusing, I've worked on my measures to simulate the functionality I wanted.  Thank you for replying, will close this topic.

I am using 1 table that has a report_date and a maket value decimal I am using a pulse chart to show performance over time and a separate bar chart visual to highlight avg capital investment by quarter.

My quarter column is:

yyyymm = 'dev table'[Report Date].[Year] & " " & 'dev table'[Report Date].[Quarter]
and  my value measure is:
AvgCapital= DIVIDE('dev table'[capital],'dev table'[UnitQty],0)
