Trying to Replicate the SUMIFS

hi,

I was wondering if someone can help me!

I am trying to create a new table from an existing table, with the data replicating a SUMIFS function.

I have put some sample data in a file here:  https://www.dropbox.com/s/0x2h7rhxh8ehs5t/tblFOO.xlsx?dl=0

The data is contained in a file called FOO Data which is updated monthly

I then what to create a new table which sumarizes the rows by date - example shown in the other sheet [Result]

So basically, for each Contract Item per date there is a total, whereas in the source data for each Contract Item and Date there can be many lines of data.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks

@timknox  it is pretty straight forward, just use table visual and drop contract and date and col total cost in values

Change contract aggregation to "Don't aggregate" by clicking arrow next to this column in value

Change total Cost aggregaton to "Sum" (it should be sum by default)

solution attached.
