I've asked this question before and was told that what I was seeing is expected behavior (http://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/X-Axis-labels-wrong-with-trend-line/m-p/199613#M87821). However, I just can't imagine that this is acceptable by most reporting folks.
I am able to create a trend line with no issues on a clustered column chart. However, the values displayed for the x-axis are not complete and are not properly aligned with the columns.
Has anyone come up with a work-around for this? Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi @earlenereid,
Ability to use Trend Line with Categorical Values in X-axis
Right now we can only use trend lines for continuous values in the x axis. It would be great if a categorical value could also be used, such as month name.
