Hello I was wondering about a possible issue with Power BI totals in a table. I have a list of numbers in a table that when I turn on Totat Row they sum up to 39,615 in Power BI, but when I calculate them myself I get 39,622. I tried it in Excel and also got 39,622. I'm not sure why this would be. I've also noticed that on the matrix too. Row Total will equal the right amount but the Column Total if added up won't equal the right amount on the matrix. Is there a bug in the Power BI totals tool?
Thanks in advance.
Hi @nleuck
Try to use SUMX dax. That will resolve your issue.

Thank you for your response. Yes that does work. My situation is a little different though. I have a measure in a matrix as values. The measure multiplies two other measures. If I turn on the Total Row selection for the matrix the sum at the bottom is 39,615. When I try it myself I get 39,622 and the same if I try Excel 39,622. I don't believe SUMX would help me in this particular situation. It's when I turn on the the Total Row selection from the Visualization pane under General.
Hi @nleuck,
Could you please share sample data of your original tables and post the DAX you use to create measures?
Also please check the solution in this thread about how to make correct total in Table/Matrix
