Hi, I am fairly new to PowerBI and trying to create Top N (5) repot.
I have two tables.
- Date Table
-Fault Reasons Table
I am after Top N (5) report based on Month/Year, Technology, Reason, Total Fault Count, Rank (Top 5)

Did you try the TOP N filter ?
1. Load the data to powerbi
2. Create a relation between to tables.
3. Make sure all data types are picked up correctly
4. In visualization later take a filter of Date. In the latest version, there is filter pane global or local to page explore that.
5. Each Graph or table you should able to select view by/category and measure. Change sorting to measure if required.
