Tooltips and Vertical Column Headers in Matrix

Hello PBI Community,

I have two basic questions regarding the capabilities of the matrix visual in Power BI:

  1. Is it possible to rotate the column header so that they appear vertical. I need this for the case that I have a number of columns and the names of each column is a rather long text, hence it makes the matrix's width large even though the actual cells just hold a number. Format-wise, it can be much more pleasant if the column heades could have appeared vertically to save space rather than the default horizontal.
  2. Is it possible to have tooltps for matrix cells? Again, the use case for this is a large matrix when the user can simply figure out which row/column a cell relates to with much more ease.

If there is any alternate to achieve any of these, please let me know as well.

Hi @Alkhos,

In Matrix visual, firstly, we are not able to rotate the column headers. You would need to modify underlying data source to make the column names shorter. An idea about this issue has been submitted in this link, you can vote it up and add your comments.

Secondly, there is no tooltip in Matrix visual, you can use textbox to add description in your Matrix visual.

Thanks,
