Hello!
I have an expenses statement which can be filtered by quarter and month.
I need a toolptip that would show a waterfall visual for the period elapsed from the year's beginning.
The one I made displays the waterfall for the same period the main table is filtered.
What I get (1Q is selected - the tooltip displays dwviation for the 1Q only)
What I want to get - Selected - January, Tooltip shows deviation for the month elapsed from the years start
Measure are all pretty straight and simple - Deviation = Actual minus Plan
I've tried everything I can come with using ALL and ALLEXCEPT. To no avail 😞
I'm pretty sure my lack of experience with PBI is THE main reason but nevertheless... Thx for any tips in advance

@bpn1973 , make sure using date table and use time intelligence.
In tooltip try YTD
YTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD('Date'[Date],"12/31"))
Last YTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year),"12/31"))
To get the best of the time intelligence function. Make sure you have a date calendar and it has been marked as the date in model view. Also, join it with the date column of your fact/s. Refer :

I forgot to mention - I checked the recomendations here before i asked for help. None helped 😞
@bpn1973 Could really use sample data to try to track this down. ALL and ALLEXCEPT are the go to functions for ignoring things. Do you happen to have a page or report filter? Nothing in DAX can bring those back.
@bpn1973 - Seems like you are on the right track, need sample data to test with. And how your waterfall is configured.
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.
