Time zone issue in PBI service refresh

Question - does power bi service refresh in UTC? I am in EST (UTC -5) and it seems after 7pm every measure i have set to filter to TODAY() is incorrect. Has anyone had this issue before and/or know how to fix?

Hi @thampton,

That isn't caused by the refreshing. That's because you used the functions like Now, Today, which is related to the time zone. 

The root cause is the different default time zone between Service and Desktop. It's UTC in Service while it's Local in Desktop. 

So the solution could be using special functions instead, UTCTODAY, UTCNOW. Please refer to the snapshot below. 

UTCNow = UTCNOW()
