The function SUMX cannot work with values of type String.

I have two seemly identical reports, one of which I've built from the data model of the original and I am receiving the following error when duplicating a visual:

MdxScript(Model) (14, 37) Calculation error in measure 'caustin_04172018'[71_adopt]: The function SUMX cannot work with values of type String.

Any ideas on this?

Nevermind, I figured it out.

For those that run into the same issue, you should double check columns you are pointing at in your DAX equations. Either pointing to the wrong column or the column content is not formatted correctly.
