Hi
I have a data connector working on my laptop which works well for refresh on data gateway (personal mode). Wondering if this can be run on Azure to make it more reliable?
Best Regards
Liam

Hi Liam,
I think we can. The virtual machine is just like the physical machine.

Hi Liam,
A gateway is necessary for connecting to on-premises data sources only. So if your data sources are the cloud services on Azure, like Azure SQL Database, Azure Analysis Services, you don't need a gateway. What's your data source? Please refer to service-gateway-manage.

Hi Dale
Thanks for your reply. My data source is a web service but my question was really about the data gateway in personal mode which allows the use of a custom data connector to the data source and refreshing it whiich is fine - but I want to know if this can be implemented on Azure (using a virtual desktop?) rather than being dependent on a physical desktop.
I hope that makes sense?

Liam
