Text fields being treated as number or date when exported as csv file

my product part number is a text field, but when exporting as a csv, it is being converted to a number formula or a date. example model 6150-2-5 is converted to 2/5/6400 and 6150E-2 is converted to 61.5. I have the part number field set up as data type = text and format = text.   In PBI the matrix visual shows the true part number, it is only when I export as a csv file that the problem happens.

Hi @mgradijan

CSV is reading it as a number since the first Character in the column is a number.

a solution would be to add a space as a first Character to the column Part Number and problem will be solved

@mgradijan  my best guess is that the source file (csv) did not capture the column as text.
