Text Box and Smart Narrative

I have a cover page and want to left justify a Field and was told use text box and select Smart Narrative.  I got the Value Field but I can not seem to get font, or color to stay.  It keeps defaulting back to Segoe UI 10 and black.

@bdehning . select a measure in the text box (once you inserted it into text box using values) and change font color and size
