but when the report from Desktop was released in workspace, and check the same report in Web Power BI, It shows that Taiwan is a country (with Capital and Bolt Characters...)

Hi @Anonymous ,
Taiwan is a Chinese province, but there are problems left over from history.
If your country column has Taiwan, You can set other tags for it, such as ‘Country/Region’:

Hi Lionel,

Glad to hear from you, thank you for your patient reply!

Indeed, I just need to show China Mainland locations (example, Shanghai, Bejing, Guangzhou...), I would said it's quite OK when created in Desktop, Taipei is provincial capital (see picture, the sign of Taipei is same as Fuzhou).Locations in Desktop.jpg

but, when I released this report to Web Power BI in workspace (https://app.powerbi.com/), it shows TAIWAI (Capital and Bolt) is a country, same as JAPAN/KOREA...and Taipei becomes Capital of country...

locations in Web-PowerBI.jpg

even though I changed to "Country/Regoin" (if included TAIWAN), it still shows same web Map...

so...the bing. map will be difficult to be used in China.

so, how to solve it? (hopefully, in Web Map, it shows TAIWAN is a province, not a country in my case....)

Hi @Anonymous ,

I tried to do it again, but still don't meet the issue:

maybe it's related to the data. Here's mine:

You can show me a sample data.

And Why can't I find other provincial cities on the map (the map in workspace).
Maybe this question has nothing to do with the data of Taipei, but with all your provincial data, Possible?

Hi Lionel,

I tried with you data, here is the result.

in Desktop BI, it looks fine (Bing Map).

Desktop BI.jpg

But after released in workspace, it shows:

Web BI.jpg

I found some difference between your map and mine:

  1. in Desktop BI, your map has TAIWAN, but not in mine
  2. in Web BI, There is a clear TAIWAN in my map, but not in yours...

I used "Bing map", I believe you used the same...

it's quite trick as you can see...It's totally different even in one Power BI APP

Hi @Anonymous ,

I tested it again with the latest version of Power BI Desktop (Version: 2.76.5678.541 64-bit (December 2019)).

And Taiwan is considered a country (Although this is inappropriate).
